We have had a very busy day of celebrating the resurrection of our risen Savior and Lord today. We started off with cinnamon rolls and then off to church. Then we went to mamaw and pappaw's for lunch:) All of our cousins were there and Grandma was there with special Easter baskets for all of the kids. That was so sweet. She also made Easter cookies for all of them as well. (I am so thankful she does this since I always have such good intentions every holiday of making sugar cookies and decorating them with Amanda but...........only the bunny cake gets made:) After our tummies were full we went out our annual Easter egg hunt which was so a total blast this year because baby E was walking and finding eggs for the first time! I will post pics soon, I promise!
We really enjoyed being with our family and our thankful for our time with them. We are especially thankful that we serve a risen living Savior not just some dead saint, cult, or religion. We are so thankful that Easter is not about some silly bunny cake, or even the fun Easter egg hunts we have been to!
We are so thankful to know Christ died on the cross for us, and then rose again on the third day. We are so grateful that hubby and I both have had a time in our life when we have realized that we were good people that do good things, but that just wasn't enough..........we realized we were sinners in need of a Savior and gave our lives to Christ by simply acknowledging that we were sinners and accepting Christ into our hearts and lives. Believing that Christ died and rose again for us, and confessed our sins to him.
We know that whatever the future holds for us, he will be right there with us! That brings us so much peace as we face a future that brings uncertainty.
The real bonus is knowing that when we die we will live in heaven with him FOREVER and all of those we have loved here on earth that have accepted him will join us. We pray that you will be there with us! Happy Easter!
