Amanda's Barbie Beach Luau Party

Amanda decided to have a Barbie Beach Luau Birthday Party for her 6th birthday this year!(I still can't believe she is 6!) Every other year we have a smaller party at home versus at the moon bounce place, gym, etc where we can invite more kids.

I love to have parties at home because we can do one of my favorite things, DECORATE and play games! Amanda and I LOVE to decorate for anything! I joke with my hubby about going into the children's birthday party decorating business!

Amanda was thrilled her cousin was able to make the party! These two are just too cute together and it is fun to watch them play and interact together. I hope to they will be close cousins always!
We turned the downstairs into a beach! This little girl was pretending to be the sea monster?

She definitely could pass for the Lock Ness Monster I think!

The funny thing about having a luau the last weekend of October when we knew it wouldn't be hot but we sure didn't expect our first snow fall of the season. The flakes were huge but didn't stick.

Present time-Amanda was showered with amazing gifts from all of her sweet friends.

Amelia had a little date for the party! They were so cute drinking out of their little coconuts!

Hubby is an amazing helper and host at the parties we have.

I make such wonderful cakes! (Not really, I rely on the local bakeries because cake baking is not one of my God given talents or something I am willing to try and learn because I have zero tolerance when trying to ice a cake, cupcakes are my limit!!)

We had Chick-fillet nuggets and fruit before having all the sugar. The girls were so much to listen to while they talked to each other. So funny six year old girls are.

We all had a chance at the pinata.

Amelia acted like she was 6 too at the party.

We played a beach ball parachute game that was fun and then celebrated the birthday girl in the middle and she laughed so hard!
We also did the limbo and the girls got down low.....

We had Hula Hop bag races that was so much fun. The girls just laughed and laughed.

Amelia thought hopping in a sack was funny!
We played pin the sunglasses on the barbie.

When we asked if Amelia wanted to try she said, "Yes!'

The barbie masked Amelia!

Some of the girls at the beach!
The girls were sooo excited to go down to the beach!

Getting ready to go down to the beach.

When the girls first arrived we decided to make pumpkin necklaces, they really enjoyed this.
Such precious friends! I am soooo thankful Amanda has such sweet girlfriends and is so well liked. I pray that is always the case but I have heard around 5th grade girls get really mean! Yikes!

Daddy was so kind to crawl under the decorations every time he had to go upstairs. Such a trouper.

Aloha!

The basement made for a great beach!

The beach entrance.

We have packed away our luau party stuff for Amelia's birthday because I KNOW she will want to have a luau party someday! What a fun party!
