Our New Cleaning Lady!

Hubby has been wanting me to hire a cleaning lady for some time now...........and I finally found someone worth keeping!

If you can keep her from eating the cleaning wipes long enough to actually clean she's pretty good at cleaning glass tops.

She takes pride in her work and actually appears to enjoy it!

She loves to swifer!

She had a real hard time understanding why she couldn't get the pumpkin on the floor cleaned up!
Overall, she is fabulous but due to child labor laws she can't work too many hours a day.

Toy Story On Ice!

For Amanda's birthday weekend daddy bought tickets for us to go and see Toy Story On Ice. We love ice shows and this one was fabulous!

Amanda chose a small Jessie doll for her special treat and after she received a bigger one for her birthday she told her little sis that she could have the small Jessie doll. Amelia took her up on it and loves that doll. I thought that was so sweet that she shared like that and told her that she didn't have to give her doll away to her sister that it was OK to have two, but she said she really wanted her sister to have the doll. I have to write things like that down so I can pull it out when they are fighting teenage sisters because I have heard that day will come!

Amanda chose a snow cone for her drink. I think because it came in a Jessie cup!

She had her picture made with Woody and Buzz.

Mickey was there!

Hubby surprised us with second row seats which allowed Amanda to see all of the characters up close and she loved it! Daddy is so good at getting good seats at a good price but it helps that he was able to get them months ago before they opened them up to the public. GO Daddy go we don't know how you do it but love it!

How slinky dog skated on ice I do not know. I think there is more than one person in that costume.

Rex and Jessie

She just loves Jessie!

Donald was there.

The potato heads were there. I always wonder if they are planning to have a little spud of their own someday.

Barbie was there and oh, so was KEN!

Popcorn time!

My favorite Minnie Mouse was there! You know how we love her!

Amanda had a wonderful time and it was fun celebrating her 5th birthday together!
Where was Amelia you ask? Don't worry she was in good hands and spending the day getting spoiled with her mammaw and pappaw!

Making Pizza

Amanda made pizza for lunch and after we baked it we ate it! (yes, my kids are wearing summer clothes in the house) I figure it doesn't matter since it isn't usually cold inside.

Can you tell what my favorite food is?

Beauty and the Beast Show!

Last weekend daddy had to go to NYC for a meeting so we took Amelia to mammaw and pappaw's house to visit with them for a while, and then Amanda and I went to see Beauty and the Beast for some just the 2 of us time!

Amanda asked to pose with the napkins. She loved that scene but got so nervous and shy when she would have her picture with any of the characters. It was cute!

Belle was an awesome Belle! She asked each child questions and took a real interest in them and asked for a hug. Belle is one of Amanda's favorite's right now.

Amanda went around telling me who she wanted a picture with. She wanted one with Lumiere. The costumes were fabulous although it is hard to tell in the pictures since they took most of them off since they became human again at the end of the play.

The silly girls made Amanda laugh out loud how they would chase Gaston around!

I can't remember this character's name but she was the dresser full of clothes in Belle's room until she became human.

Of course, this was her favorite character to pose with!

What a sweet time with just my little princess! I love that she loves to go to plays with me and I will admit I do get that acting or directing bug in me again every time I go to one of these plays.....maybe someday I will direct Amanda playing the part of Belle in her high school play, you will just have to wait and see............

Amanda told me she wanted to "get down like she did" she was referring to how Belle squatted down to her level to take the picture.

I love my little BELLE!

Our Anniversary with...........

Paula Deen!
My sweet hubby knows that I am in love with Paula Deen so six months ago he sent me an email telling me that he had just purchased tickets for us to go see Paula Deen only it would be on our 6th wedding anniversary.
I was more than thrilled and so excited to be surprised like that!
There was one catch....isn't there always? He might not be in town so I would have to have a girlfriend go with me......Ok, so I have to spend my anniversary with a girlfriend and not my hubby? Well, that was OK with me as long as I got to see Paula! Fortunately, it worked out that he didn't have to go to NYC and we got to spend our anniversary together with Paula!

Paula and her hubby were both together at the cooking show. Her hubby even helped cook, you can tell he keeps her on track and their back and forth banter was hilarious.

She taught us to how to make cornbread stuffing and let me tell ya, my hubby made it for Thanksgiving and I am so in love with that stuffing now it is going to be a new tradition to have that every year and part of that tradition will be for him to make it too! My hubby is good in the kitchen!
Actually we work well in the kitchen together as long as we are doing our own thing, our own way, with no comments from the peanut gallery! I like to cook and it is hard for me to share my (our) kitchen. I have loved making some of Paula's recipes but I will admit I try to make them less fattening and do not use all the butter she uses because we are just not as into butter as she is, I don't know anyone that is into butter like sweet Paula!

Paula introduced us to her new friend Vice President Biden's wife Jill Biden. She was lovely (would be even more so if she were a Republican.)
As you can see they posed for my picture so graciously.

Paula and her hubby Michael are just precious together! I was thinking they would make the perfect Santa and Mrs. Claus! I love how she is just herself and says what she thinks and doesn't try to impress ya like Martha!

Paula loves to talk and I love listening to her, see her hubby cooking behind her? ha ha Noting like a man in the kitchen! I have a man that likes to be in the kitchen when he is home for a holiday, snow day, sometimes weekend.....it is a nice break for me.

Paula's cousin was there and she has a cake business and makes fabulous cakes, cupcakes etc.

There we are at the bottom of the screen. See us?
I know it is so tacky for me to take a picture of us on the big screen right in the middle of the show but hey, a girl can't be classy all the time now can she? Hubby once again purchased great seats, he's good about that!

Oh Paula, I just love you! I became obsessed with watching her show when I was pregnant with Amelia one night when I couldn't sleep. I started taping the shows and then I would rewind, rewind, and write everything down she said to do for recipes.......I told my girlfriend and she told me, "You know the recipes are on the website" Actually, I didn't know but all that writing and re-watching her has helped me improve my cooking skills, at least I think so! (With the exception of the raspberry sauce, chemistry lesson but that story will be for another day or maybe I will just keep that one to myself!)

Here is the turkey cake her cousin made. I wish I could decorate cakes like this but I am afraid that just isn't my gift.

After the show, hubby and I went to a restaurant that I have wanted to go to for a long time. He had been there once since he lunches for business at nicer places than the girls and I do.
We had a wonderful time together and a delicious meal, it was nice to talk to each other and not be interrupted, or have to cut up his food, or clean up under his chair before leaving the restaurant.
Our anniversary was delightful, while I loved sharing it with Paula Deen........I was thankful my hubby was in town to share the day with me! If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't have a wedding anniversary to celebrate! Thanks for such a wonderful surprise sweetheart! I just love you so much and love your suprises! (Unforunately, my surprises for hubby are things like, "I just ran into the garage door again while trying to back out the car" so my surprises aren't like his Paula Deen surprise! I need to get better at surprising him and I think he agrees!

An Adorable Messy

"My parents let me have chocolate before my big sissy was allowed to have it!"

"My candy bar was this big, OK. I'm exaggerating but it was big. It was leftover from when we went up and down the street knocking on the neighbor's door's and they would give us candy. I keep asking my mom if we can do this on a daily basis but she doesn't understand what I am trying to say!"

"More chocolate please?"

"Noting like a blue-eyed, chocolate face is there?"
"It is moments like this my mommy has had to learn to just take a deep breath and enjoy it because these moments are soooo messy but soooo fleeting."
"There will come a time that I do not like to get messy, my big sis is like that. She comes home from preschool without a drop of dirt on her and mommy and I just can't believe it. We have told her it is
ok to get dirty and I am trying to model the messy look for her but she just likes to be clean!"
