Amanda the doctor!

This morning when I woke up I wasn't feel well. I got up thinking I would just talk myself into feeling good but unforunately it didn't work. Ofcourse on a day I don't feel well Amanda bounced out of bed earlier than usually and states,"oh mommy, I had such a good nights rest!" ha ha I am shocked with how expressive she is sometimes. I told her that I wasn't feeling well so we wouldn't be able to go to bible study today. She attends a bible study for children while I go to mine and has learned all kinds of wonderful bible stories and made great crafts. She simply loves it!She replied, "I have a Doctor's kit."

What I have been up to review.

My first "real" pony ride. I just started liking the horses on the Merry Go Round at the mall just before I turned 2. It was that free standing pony ride at the beach in September that made me change my mind about pony rides! Up until then, I screamed if you went near one!

Do you like my pony tail? I have to be in the mood to wear a pony tail, or even a bow so mommy loves it when I allow her to mess with my hair. My hair is just not one of those battles mommy is going to pick to fight right now. She is just hoping I will become more girly and like things in my hair real soon. I told her one day recently, "you know why I don't like bows? Because they hurt my head!" Dp you understand why she doesn't want to fight this battle? After all, I am just 2!

This was a picture of Daddy and me at the Disney Playhouse Live concert in March. We will do more concert updates and pictures later since my mommy just started the blog she will need some time and patience to get up to date but the pics will come I promise! Oh, and daddy found another concert for us to go to June and got us tickets! Mommy and I think daddy enjoys the concerts even more than I do! This pic is when the Little Einsteins told us to raise our arms so we could get enough power to blast off! (Something you don't have a clue about if you don't have a little one like me who likes Disney Playhouse!
Since I am new to the blog world, and friends and family who don't see me very often want to see pictures... I told mommy that we should update with some pictures.....here they are! Enjoy!

Michael and Kelly trouble!

It all started when Amanda attended her cousins wedding in November, she not only fell in love with dancing but she fell for the new couple as well. She named our broom Kelly and the dustpan is Michael. I didn't realize what she was talking about until I watched her one day when she didn't know I was watching. They are both about her height.
She takes them both out of the pantry almost nightly after dinner to dance with! The other day I came in the kitchen and there was ice all over the floor, I asked her how it got on the floor and she replied,"Kelly did it!" Kelly had taken her broom handle and pushed the automatic ice maker on the fridge! I told her that she needed to tell Kelly she would be in timeout if she did it again.
So today I am making an early dinner for us and some friends, and Amanda has Kelly and Michael dancing and I hear ice go all over the floor once again. I asked her how this happened and she said, "Kelly did it" I told her that Kelly needed time out in the pantry. She did put them in there and was lecturing them about how they should not put ice on the floor and even spanked Kelly! I hope they have learned their lesson from her harsh discipline.

I have to wonder what makes a child come up with stuff like this?

Very Proud Mommy and Daddy Moment!

Everyone that knows us, knows that we love being parents and are very proud of the things our daughter has already achieved, is learning, and yes, we even love those "I am 2 and I am going to let you know it today" days!
But tonight, takes the cake! Amanda was washing her hands at the kitchen sink after dinner. Yes, we let her climb up on a chair and do this, and she turns and says out of the blue, "you are the very best daddy in the whole wide woold daddy!" We both said, "ahh" at the same time and she looks at me and says, "and you are the very best mommy in the whole wide woold mommy!" I think my week has been made!

DSW shopping "experience"

While I was out shopping for some tablecloths for our house, I saw a DSW shoe warehouse. I have only been in there one time and only for a brief second when my neice was looking for something but a friend who has a lot of style and class told me it is a great place to get a pair of shoes....and since I was right there....I decided to pop in a see if I could find a pair of shoes to replace my favorite worn out black ones. I was instantly overwhelmed by the amount of shoes, and did notice that although the store was quite huge, only 1/4 of it was dedicated to men. I guess that is the downside of being male....I wouldn't know, so I am browsing along when I am approached by a salesman about signing up for a special Dsw savings card, I kindly declined and went back to looking and about five minues later another salesperson approaches me with same offer and I kindly delcine once more. Did I happen to mention that I rarely have a moment to shop without a toddler to chase and tell,"please be an angel for just five more minutes","don't touch that", "stay by mommy", "sit back down in your stroller"? Once again, I am browsing and am offered a bag to put shoes in instead of a shopping cart, so I put a pair in to try on later. Seconds later, you would never believe that I am approached a third time and asked about signing up for that DSW savings card. I tell them I will when I am done shopping, in hopes that I will be left alone in peace to check out these shoes. I am already thinking that the savings must be fantastic or they wouldn't want me to have the card right? By now I have several pairs to try on in my bag so I go sit down and start trying them on....when I look around and notice that I am the only person sitting down with a tower of shoes next to me. I am again approached by a salesman who attempts to put my tower of shoes that I am trying on away...... I tell him I am not done and he says, "these are yours?" I look around and discover that apparently I am doing the whole DSW shopping experience wrong! The other ladies just stand up next to the shoes they like and try them on there and then put them back.........opps! I decide I like a pair of shoes but the sevens just don't seem big enough......but I have always worn 6 1/2 or 7? I have been told that your feet do grow after giving birth......um....they have never appeared to have grown the past 2 1/2 years.......but the 7 1/2 do indeed fit better and it hits me! Could I have possibly been living in denial the past 2 1/2 years and my feet have grown? I really am in shock but decide to go ahead and get them, ofcourse, on my way to purchase them I find another pair that really are cute and brown and I do like to wear brown....end of story!I make it to the counter and fill out the great savings card only to find out that you do not actually save the day you purchase, on no, a ten dollar, yes, you read right, $10 coupon comes in the mail and you can use it towards your next purchase! ha How is that a savings plan? I would say that is more of a get you to spend more next time plan! I kindly let the manager know on my way out that I thought that was false advertising since none of the sales people mentioned the savings was in the form of a coupon that is mailed to your house. Ofcourse, she was sorry! But at least I learned what my actual shoe size is and no longer have to live in denial and that I have not missed much by just now discovering DSW!

Off to art class and more shiny glitter!

Amanda is off with daddy to her art class. She is taking a class through our recreation center here called "little picaso's" very cute. She has made some beautiful creations but some of which include a lot of shiny glitter, that gets everywhere....and I mean Everywhere! While I want her to be proud of her work and display it...what does one do about all that shiny glitter everywhere? It doesn't matter how much you vacuum, that shiny glitter is still there and just doesn't want to come up. I guess it will be worth it one day when she is a famous artist. (although we are still encouraging her to run for President) So hang in there, you will be able to reep the benefits of her tax cuts, but you will have to wait for another 33 years.

We are so excited that this is the one weekend we have nothing planned! It sure is nice to not have to run here and there, although we have plenty of house cleaning to do together today. Amanda loves to help clean, and does a great job, she is learning young to take care of things and to her it is fun, I hope she keeps that attitude when she is a tween and teenager! We will update you with our busy weekends with pictures later.

Enjoying the nice weather!

Wow! We sure are enjoying the nice weather this week and have gone on long walks with friends the past two days! I love being outside and mommy gets her exercise pushing me in the stroller. We have had picnics outside twice this week which is something I love and mommy loves too. We could just stay outside all day if mommy didn't have to do laundry.

Today the workmen finished our patio so now we will have a place to put a table and grill. Just in time for cookout season! Mommy and I are so excited, but not sure about daddy since this nice weather means he has to mow the lawn more often. Mommy and I would love to help him but he would rather we didn't. Where are all of those teenagers who want to make a little money mowing lawns?

I have had the blessing of seeing my mamaw and papaw three times this week. We met them for lunch today at one of my favorite restaurants. Yesterday, I got to play with my cousin baby Ethan for several hours, and we took another walk with mamaw and mommy. Pappaw went with Uncle Eric to watch him coach baseball. He had one of his last baseball games of the season and unforunately, his team lost the game. I had fun with baby Ethan, and I tried to teach him to say the names of all of the animals, but he just laughed at me. He is such a happy baby and loves to laugh, he sounds a lot like his big sister when he laughs. Well, I am tired from going shopping with my mommy and mamaw today, so off to bed I go after a quick game of Candy land with my daddy. I hope he doesn't cry this time when I fill my gingerbread man up with shapes first! Night, night!

Welcome to our blog!

We have finally decided to enter the blogging world for several reasons..........first, to keep our family and friends (who keep moving away) up to date on Amanda's adventures. Another reason, is for mommy to have a log of the cute things I say and do because she is soooooo very behind on my scrapbooks and by the time she finishes them she will have forgotten everything since her memory isn't that great as it is today! I am great at helping her remember things though! I even remembered to tell her to buy coffee one day and Papaw and Mamaw will be forever greatful. The last reason for deciding to enter the blogging world, is to share some of the ways God continues to have his hand on our family and continues to bless our relationship with him! We hope you enjoy our blog and keeping up with all of our many adventures!
Enjoy! PS- I told my mommy not to brag too much on me, but I doubt she will listen since everyone that knows her knows she loves talking about me!
(Oh,and see the picture? I have taken up decorating and thought I would help by decorating the family room wall with stickers, like it? Mommy didn't!
