Last week of kindergarten......

We celebrated the last week of kindergarten with daddy taking the girls to a festival at a local church while I used my mother's day gift...somebody knew it was going to be rough week for me emotionally.......so he thought some time off relaxing with two of my favorite gals would prepare me to see my baby finish her last week of kindergarten.........

Daddy got rid of the cardboard playhouse that has driven him nuts the past two years.......it was falling apart! He took a picture incase I would be upset! I was ready to let it go after a day of relaxing!

Amelia learned to buckle her shoes........

We celebrated daddy's birthday and Amanda sang a new song of hers and played her guitar for him. I will say for a girl that has never had a real lesson.......she is pretty good! Daddy has helped her since he plays too!

Amanda gave daddy a picture of our family for his birthday!

Amelia gave a birthday hug! We were glad she had one since her lastest thing is......."I am all outta hugs."   "I am all outta kisses."    "I am all outta sorry's."

We started the last week of Kindergarten on Monday, June 11th........I took pics of the girls walking in......

Amelia took a pciture next to the Rainbow of God's great love! The younger kids end the year with Rainbow Chapel which is a wonderful time! The kindergarteners end the year with Butterfly Chapel which was fabulous, very meaningful, and emotional seeing my little girl walk into chapel for the last time......tears flowed before it even started but I won't say who's!

Amelia loves to play Mother May I? After dropping Amanda off at school all the way back to the car. Sometimes, it takes us a while to actually leave.......

The last week of Kindergarten Monday with a special friend!

Here is the Butterfly garden! This is a new tradition the kindergarteners started. They planted lettuce, radish, and pumpkins. They were able to taste the lettuce and I tasted the radish which was good and I don't like radishes! The pumpkins will not be ready until later so they will be giving them to the next class! Such a sweet tradition I think! Amanda plans to visit the garden this summer. She really likes it since it has been sucessful and nothing we have grown at home has unforunately, with the exception of the weeds

Bad news!

I came home from the store the other night to two girls very excited to see me! Amanda told me, "You are the best mommy in the whole world!" Then Amelia repeated it! They knew one of the things I went out to get were "Starburst" or as Amelia says, "Starbt"

I played a joke on them like I had forgotten them and saw their faces immediately turn from happy to very sad so I quickly told them I was joking!

Amelia said, "Mommy, I have bad news!"    (She has been doing this alot lately because she overheard daddy saying it. He always says he has bad news and good news and then wants to hear which one I want first. Usually, the bad news is a late night or conference call so it is really not "bad news" and we are soooo thankful!

Amelia-"Mommy I have bad news!"

Mommy- "Oh no what is it?"

Amelia-" Daddy is stupid!"

Mommy-"What? That is not a nice thing to say!"

Amanda saved her by explaining that daddy said he was stupid!

Then daddy came in and explained.......he did say he was stupid and "mommy's gonna kill me!"

They had booked tickets for an ice show while I was out, for October and once they did so......he remembered that I said I wanted to go to homecoming in October and he thought he had booked it for the same weekend! So he said, "I am so stupid, mommy's gonna kill me!"

Of course since Amelia is REALLY into learning new vocabulary lately we have been hearing stupid and that she is gonna kill alot.

So why I am not going to kill daddy...........he is in the dog house for teaching my daughter new words!!!!! BTW- it is not for the same weekend so he is off the hook!

Photo Catch up!

I can't believe how quickly time flies and how quickly I get so far behind scrapbooking bloggin.......The past month has been a busy one but we have had fun making lots of memories.....Amelia and I enjoyed our class and playground time together while Amanda was in school. One on One time is always fun to have!
Amelia playing soccer. She amazes me with how much control she has of the ball. She was kicking the ball all the way down the field and was able to keep up with it.

Amanda's favorite thing at the playground is the corkscrew and her sister wants to be just like her......
Amelia conquered her fear of jumping off the high end of the mat!

We had lots of playground time!

She made a new friend and loves to visit him!

We started the month off by attend a play, The Five Little Monkeys. It was really cute. They acted out several of the books based on the first book. The monkeys went shopping, they baked a cake, and of course they jumped on the bed. Both girls loved it, daddy had to leave and go rest in the car due to some pain he was having but he didn't want us to go home.....of course that was the night we ended up in the ER and he passed his first and hopefully last kidney stone. He's given up soda! So proud of him, I am still trying.......

Amanda wanted to ride the carousel and since we thought daddy was just having pain due to something he ate we figured a quick ride would be ok....I felt so bad afterwards.....

Amelia hates carousels but had no choice since hubby was in the car....she clung to my neck so tightly......

Not sure what is it about them that she doesn't like......

I love that her hair is long enough for pony taills sooooo cute.

She relaxed a lot by the end of the ride but can't say she liked it......

Running back to the car to check on daddy......I love this park. It is an oldie but a goodie!

Amelia's obession began with these block toys this month. Every doctor's office seems to have one and church, Amanda's school etc......not sure what it is but she runs to them when she spots them for some reason.

I took the girls to free crafting Saturdays at the teacher store. This day they made mother day presents. Amelia worked on hers forever......yes, even longer than Amanda which I didn't think was possible because Amanda adores crafts and art but it appears her sis is going to be into craft time just as much!

We wrapped up our Awana program in the beginning of the month. Both of the girls participated this past year and hubby has already signed up to be a leader next year! We can't say enough about Awana and what it has done for our daughter. Since we won't be going to a christian school next year we think the Awana program will be a nice balance for Amanda. She loves to hide God's word in her heart and I love it and am praying Amelia will be the same way. I think she will because the minute we get into the car she wants to sing her bible songs! It even beats out watching The Brady Bunch dvds if you can believe that. (Yes, I am subjecting my kids to watching The Brady's but they love it and laugh! I am hoping they will join me so I won't be the only Brady fan out there!)

She worked sooooo hard on this project! So cute! I love this free craft time because the mess is at the store!

These three cuties pampered me for Mother's Day.....

Amanda made me this beautiful Butterfly necklace at school! I adore this and wear it all the time! When she sees me wearing it she always comments! So sweet.......I really am so thankful we were in a school last year that valued art. Children can learn soooo much through the process of art. I think it is sooo sad how some schools continue to just cut away at the arts....I am hoping it is not like this next year since one of Amanda's learning styles is being "hands on" I wonder if she will be an artist some day because this is the child that told me a couple of years ago that I needed to take her to an art museum because she needed to know what kind of stuff they have on their walls since she was going to be an artist! I still need to do that......yikes.......another thing to add to the summer fun bucket list!
After a nice lunch out we tried to take some mom and daughter photos but a certain little two year didn't cooperate!
Well, at least she treated me to a nice lunch and a nap, and spa day, maybe next month we can get a picture!

Visting Discovery!

While Grandpa was up visiting for the big graduation parties....we decided to take a little trip to see the Space Shuttle. I am still sad they won't be going to space anymore. I have always found the shuttle program fascinating! It was neat to see it up close.

It was really cool to stand under it.

We waited in a very long line for a chance to sit in a Cessna. It was a long wait because there were some very rude people in front of us that didn't think it was necessary to make their kids obey. The posted rules were for everyone but them! I have zero patience for people who think the rules don't apply to them but it is part of living in this area!

Amelia got in the plane for a minute but when the instructor told her to not move the steering wheel so hard she got out. It was his tone and the fact he was a man...she's pretty sensitive and doesn't warm up to too many men quickly! I think that will be a good thing when she starts dating!

I loved visiting this museum but next time we will pack a picnic or something because the only place they have to eat is McDonald's.

Eating at McDonald's does things to my stomach and weird things to my family as you can see...........

We have found it best to steer clear of them..........
