Falling in love is confusing..........

Amelia has been asking a ton of questions about falling in love the past couple of weeks.

Tonight, she was looking at her Disney Princess magazine and there was a story about The Little Mermaid in it. She really is quite scared of the "mean lady" in the movie and on the ride at Disney!

She said, "So is this how you get married. You are mean to each other, then you are nice to each other, you fall in love, get married, and then you have a baby?"

Her dad replied, "Well, you shouldn't mean to each other!"

Amelia says, " So how do you fall in love? You just fall and then love?"

I guess the "mean lady" has caused all the confusion about falling in love!

Sweet Frog Fun!

While daddy was gone.....we tried to stay busy which wasn't hard to do with all of our end of the school year activities! I surprised the girls one Sunday afternoon with a trip to a yogurt place that opened up not too long ago. Amanda had been to one last year at my sister's house and has talked about it a lot. When she saw that one had opened up she kept asking to go there and I kept saying, "not today!" The girls were more than thrilled when I took them there!

It is a very interesting place.......for a germophobic like me! The yogurt is self serve so everyone puts their germy hands on the levers to get the yogurt. It gets worse........because then there are toppings! There were probably 30 or so toppings to add and it was self serve once again! Lucky me! Another opportunity for germy hands to touch all the serving spoons I felt like I was at a buffet and buffets and I do not mix well........but the girls LOVED IT!

So, it was worth the germy experience after all but I made sure they used a wipe before eating. It was fun to try the different yogurts but I have to admit I would rather be served than do the self-serve thing! I can't wait to see how long this place is around. I can't imagine people wanting frozen yogurt in the Winter!

Yep, totally worth the smiles on their sweet faces!

Where's daddy?

Where was daddy during the busy end of the school year activities..........China........

on a business trip! He was bummed to miss so many fun things, but he is the reason we can do so many wonderful things because he works so hard for us! We really missed him!

We told him to take a ton of pictures for us!

He brought us back some nice presents so I guess it is OK that he took a day to shop and sight see!

He sure is a cutie!

My dad asked me if I was going to China with him and I told him it wasn't a place I had a desire to go.......however, after seeing the pictures........I think I will put China on my Bucket List!

The lanterns make me think of Tangled!

We sure did miss him but we were excited for him and the huge opportunity he was given there! He is a fabulous speaker but we think he is an amazing daddy and hubby too!

End of the School Year fun!

The past month of school was a blur but we will try to summarize...... Amelia walking into school on her last day as a Polar Bear. So sad, life goes too fast but it was neat to see how much she grew not just physically, but socially too!

The last day of school is such a sad one and I have cried the past two years but held it together this year and didn't cry. They have a rainbow chapel and all the kids walk under the Rainbow of God's Great Love and sing the song. It is precious!

Amanda's teacher when she was four! We love her dearly!

Amelia going under the rainbow with one of her teachers! So sweet.

Last day of school playing with sidewalk chalk.

Last day pick up time.......so sad but special.

We loved her teachers so much this year!

Hugging the teacher good bye.........

Picture with her special friend who is sadly moving away in a few weeks.........

She said bye to me and then went to lunch with her mammaw and papaw.  I literally ran to Amanda's end of the year pool party.....

Amanda had a blast swimming at the pool with her friends. I had a good time talking to the teachers and parents. We are blessed to have a pool at school! I think every school should have one because swimming is something everyone should learn to do!

She is sooo grown up. The parents in this class throw amazing parties!

One mom made these yummy cupcakes. We are constantly telling her she needs to open a shop because she makes the most amazing cupcakes and different flavors than the typical cupcake.

So sweet!

The teachers talked for a few minutes and then off to the pool.

They hired a lifeguard for the party which was nice.

The very next day a miracle occurred! Amanda allowed me to chaperon a second field trip!

We had a great time!

Amanda really enjoyed herself and I did too.

Yes, that's my girl pretending to shoot me!

One of the parents organized the field trip and after the tour of the museum we all had an opportunity to make our own ship.

Amanda worked hard on her ship.

So did I! I named my ship The Princess!

Beautiful isn't it?

Truly a masterpiece! I really enjoyed coloring, and gluing. So relaxing! No wonder adults run around so stressed out......we stop gluing in the third grade!

Amanda's ship with lots of cannons.

This is a Lego ship you can buy for something like a hundred and fifty dollars! I guess it is a good thing we do not have a boy because I would hate to pay to have all those little pieces everywhere! (At least an American Girl Doll is one large piece!)

The mom who organized the trip provided a pizza lunch before the kids took a tour of a real ship!

Amanda waiting in line to go on the ship. So precious in her uniform. I really loved the uniforms this year and yes, I am the mom that never wanted my child to wear a uniform to school..........wow, they say people never change but I am proof you can because I LOVE UNIFORMS!

What a fun and educational trip it was! I am so glad she finally loosened up and let her mom come on some field trips. I liked how her teachers planned a lot of field trips. It is good to get out of the classroom and learn with your peers!
