Luray Visit

After a long day at the caverns we went back to the hotel and ate dinner there. We like hotels with restaurants in them for the convenience and this one was really good. Afterwards we went for a night time swim with the mountains and sun setting behind us, it was truly relaxing and a fun family swim!

We had a great view of the pool from our room.

The restaurant at the hotel was called Johnny Appleseed and they had this statue of him outside with a button you could push to hear him talk about his life. Amanda loved that! The food was "country" food but very good.

Daddy was worried the hotel wouldn't be nice and kept telling us "now it might not be as nice as the one near Sesame Place" but it was just fine and his worries were silly! It was clean with the exception of the "black hotel feet" my girls always get at hotels from the carpets. (I haven't taught them to keep their shoes on at hotels yet!) But that happens even at the ritzy hotels because they do not clean their carpets as often as they should, but then if I start thinking about all the things they might not clean that often too much............I would never stay in a hotel so I can't go there! After a good night's sleep and a wonderful breakfast with Johnny Appleseed, we were off to the Luray Zoo the next day!
