Dinner conversation

I have to say our dinner conversations just get better and better all the time! Tonight Amanda prayed, "Dear God and Heavenly Father, Thank you for our food and please send your son Jesus to come back on a white horse! Amen."

I guess she is ready for the rapture to come any day now:) She has heard me pray for it especially during difficult times like Obama's first 100 days:)

We were talking about God tonight at dinner and Amanda asked, "Why don't people believe in God?"

We tried to explain to her that some people do not believe in something they cannot see because they do not have faith like we have. She agreed with us that she has "faith" that Jesus is there even though we cannot see him.

We tried to explain to her that some people just don't know about God because their mommies and dads haven't taught them about God. We told her that is our job to tell them about God.

I am amazed how she has such an interest in bible stories and learning about God. The other night she took my devotional and pointed to the cover and said that it said, "God's Word" and started going page by page and telling Great Mamaw, daddy, and I, bible stories. We heard all about Noah, Moses, and Jesus dying on the cross and rising again.......it was all so true....until........she said Jesus had kids and went into the forest and walked and walked.......she said this as she turned through one page at a time throughout about 20 pages of the devotional (my hubby said I need a shorter devotional) ha ha Daddy told her that Jesus doesn't have kids and she told us that "it says it in my copy of the bible!"So we will just have to reread that Toddler Bible to her:) At least, she is showing an interests and we couldn't be happier!

It does make me wonder why people want to go through life without having a relationship with God.......they think being good enough and going to church, will get them through that gate when their time comes......but unfortunately until they Ask him to be their savior, forgive their sins, and believe he died on the cross and rose again for them, no matter how good they are...they won't make it through that gate. But there is still hope since Amanda is ready to tell everyone about Jesus coming on a white horse!
