This Easter was our first Easter at our new church! We were so excited about a tradition they have there every Easter. Each family brings flowers and you can put them into the cross and then they had a gal there taking family pictures by the cross. Since we never get a family picture together (we try so hard every holiday and it just doesn't work) we were sooooo excited about the opportunity.
I guess the top of the cross was cut off but hey, we will take what we can get!
Amelia started crying that awful I am soo hurt sad cry she has the minute we left the cross. She cried the whole way back to the car and wouldn't tell us why she was so upset. We thought maybe she got hurt or something. She then calmed down and told us, "I want some flowers!" She wanted to take some flowers home and not leave them on the cross! 
We went to an early lunch out at our favorite place! We typically eat at home but due to going to an earlier church service and Amelia's need for a nap, not to mention the fact we are exhausted from Amanda's surgery and recovery that we needed to plan an easy dinner out and a low-key Easter this year. Amanda is doing well as you can see. I think she has a happy face in the mornings now and wakes up on her own now. She looks rested and even her eyes are "happier" the dark circles are fading away, We are so excited that she is doing so well and is our happy little girl once again! 
The Easter bunny gave the girls candy at the restaurant but Amelia got very shy and wouldn't stand by the bunny. Once we went upstairs to the restaurant she waved from a distance...it really is OK with us that she is not fond of the Easter bunny since he is not something we focus on at Easter at our house. We try to teach the girls the real reason we celebrate. This morning we asked Amelia who died on the cross for her sins and she told us, "Noah!" We had to teach her some more and when we asked her again she said, "Jesus!"
When I asked her if mommy was a sinner she said, "Yes!"Then I said," Is Amelia a sinner?"
Amelia said, "No!" I asked her if Daddy was a sinner and she said, "NO!" Then when I asked if Amanda was a sinner she said, "Yes!" We taught her some more and then asked her if she was a sinner again and she said, "Everybody is a sinner!"
Very true, but thank God for sending His son to die on the cross and that he rose again on the third day. My prayer for both my girls, is that one day they will confess their sins, believe Jesus died on the cross for those sins, and ask Him to be their Saviour and Lord so they can live a life that will not be perfect since we will always be sinners, but they can live covered with God's grace. Honestly I don't think I could make it a day without that grace because I am constantly messing up and in constant need to be shown grace!
The girls picked out their own dresses this year, it was neat to see what they picked out and that they coordinated so well together.
After lunch we gave them their Easter baskets from us! Amelia was thrilled to see some "coco" and Amanda loved getting The Lorax book and sticker book since she loved seeing the movie so much!
Amelia is really into Toy Story for some reason and got a Mrs. Potato Head to go with her Mr. Potato Head so she was thrilled!
Amanda was thrilled to get some more charms for her charm bracelet. She loves that bracelet soooo much and remembers why and when she receives each charm. So glad we discovered those bracelets since they are fun but the charms are only five bucks! Perfect jewelery for a little girl.
After the basket opening.....we hired a pony to come and give the girls pony rides in our home! He was free!
My sweet bunny was happy to get some glasses since her little sis broke her old ones. (Little sisters!)
Hubby told me the other day that we would have a "more normal life" after Easter...........ummm.........not sure that is possible but looking forward to seeing what "more normal" looks like because I don't ever remember being normal so it might be nice to try normal!
